Waiting For The Right Moment
The original poster (OP) shares they had multiple miscarriages in the past and already had anxiety when it came to sharing the news. So, instead of falling into another disappointment, they waited til they were “in the clear” before making any public announcements on social media.
Once they crossed their 11 weeks, the OP and their significant other were thrilled to share the “official news” with their in-laws.
The mother-in-law already had a habit of spending much time on social media. So, they talked with her not to post anything until they explicitly told them it was okay. The couple had a special on how they would share the news online.
However, a few days later, the OP logged onto social media to see a post from their mother-in-law saying: “I’m going to be a grandma.“
The couple was furious! The secret was out of the bag after multiple friends of the mother-in-law had already congratulated her online.
After demanding the mother-in-law take down the post and reminding her that they had already asked not to post it, the mother-in-law called the OP’s significant other and said they were rude.
